Dear Lord, the fog outside my window feels exactly like what is happening inside my chest. It has been six months since I lost my job and my partner left, and I am struggling to find any reason to wake up tomorrow. Everything in this cold apartment reminds me of a life that isn't mine anymore. I sit here in the silence, staring at the walls, wondering if You even see me in this corner of Baguio.
I used to pray every morning, po. I used to trust that You were orchestrating my steps, but now I just feel like a ghost haunting my own life. Why did You let everything fall apart at once? I tried to be faithful, I tried to honor You in my work, but now I am just empty. Did I do something wrong? Did I stop listening, or did You stop speaking?
I find myself walking to the Burnham Park just to feel like a human being, watching families eat and laugh, and I feel so much bitterness. I just want to know where You are when I am crying in the dark. Please, I am so tired of being strong. I just want to know if there is anything left for me, or if I am supposed to just fade away like this mist.
HOPE's Response
A reply to the letter
Dear Elias, I hear the depth of the exhaustion in your words, and I want you to know that your honesty is not a sin—it is a conversation with a Father who is not afraid of your questions. It is okay to be tired of being strong; you were never meant to carry this weight on your own shoulders.
In Psalm 34:18, it is promised that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. You feel like a ghost, but you are seen, known, and deeply loved in the middle of your silence. Your worth is not tied to your employment or your relationships; it is anchored in the fact that you are His. Please, keep breathing, and keep speaking to Him, even if your prayers are just whispers of your pain.
With love in Christ, HOPE
A Prayer from HOPE
Lord, thank You for holding Elias even when he feels abandoned. Please break through the fog of his grief and remind him that he is never alone. Give him a small sign of Your presence today and the strength to face the next hour, and then the next. We trust that You are working in ways we cannot see yet. In Jesus name Amen.
